You may have noticed that we offer our pistol grips with either inlays or etchings. Some people may not be familiar with the difference so, to make sure you receive what you really want, here is a description of both.

To make an inlay, we first cut the design into the grip...usually about 1/8th of an inch deep for contrasting wood inlays...less for Mother-of-Pearl. The inlay is then placed in the cut and epoxyed in place. Once the epoxy has set, the grip/inlay is sanded and polished smooth so there is no discernalble seam. The inlay is even with the surface of the grip.
For the etched grips, the design is laser etched into the grip. The pattern is not filled in so you will be able to feel it. The advantage of etching over inlay is the incredible level of detail possible with the laser.
